To help us understand how the left can beat the reactionary forces that culminated in the breach at the U.S. Capitol, we spoke to Corey Robin, author of The Reactionary Mind: Conservatism from Edmund Burke to Donald Trump, and fellow podcasters Tarence Ray from Trillbilly Worker's Party and Tony Boswell of Minion Death Cult. Robin applies theory and historical perspective to the problem -- tracing the history of reactionary movements through the 20th century, and making the case that Republican Party is weak despite the recent uprising. Ray brings a ground-level perspective from Kentucky, where, as an organizer and social commentator, he is observes Trump's cultural impact up close. Finally, Boswell brings an intersectional organizer's perspective which centers the role of poverty, precarity, and white supremacy. It's a rich conversation that identifies as many solutions as it does problems.
